I've visited this place more than a dozen times. No visit came close to the show nature put on display this particular morning, though.
Blankets of fog were dragged over the lake from the left side through the gentle hillocks, meadows and huts towards the mighty Alpspitze and Zugspitze mountains. Being there in that moment, seeing the grass get increasingly covered in frost from the rising humidity was pure magic.
To me, this image is two things: a window into the world outside during hours most people are still asleep and also a reminder to go your own way. This area is photographed by hundreds of people each day. Most photographers stick to one specific view, take the photo and leave. However, daring to walk by the first option and explore further can pay off. I thought it did this morning.
