Standing Stones and Falling Leaves

In the Valleys of 오대산국립공원 (Odae-San National Park) South Korea, small stone stacks can be found balancing throughout the riversides. The practice of 돌탑 (Doltap) is a symbol of stability, and resistance formed in the hope it will remain unchangeable to the passage of time. Buddhist monks began this tradition, but it is followed by many who travel these mountains symbolizing their wishes, and prayers with each stone balanced.
