This work is inspired by a personal story. Let’s say the girl in the picture is called Zoë. Zoë has her good and her bad days and she is in a abusive relationship with her high school boy friend.

Although her brain tells her to leave him and his addictions behind her heart doesn’t want anything other than stay with him, so, in a strange turn of events when she can’t help him, she decides to turn to addiction herself to get closer to the love of her life. To create a better mutual understanding.

Her eyes show her affection towards him, even after he has once again laid hands on her with physical abuse.

Her eyes also show desperation and most certainly show her emotional defeat towards the addiction she always hated so much.
