At the time I was creating this piece, I was dealing with a lot internally and externally. It was probably the most stressful time of my life thus far. But working on this just made me feel safe. For some reason focusing on detailing and fine-tuning parts of a piece like the eyes and hair helps calm me. I do also love when I can see messy strokes in a piece, it just adds to it in my opinion.

I think this is a perfect balance of both.

The funny thing is at first I wasn't too happy with how this piece came out, but I grew to love it.
