The first full moon of July, the "Buck Moon"
Taking place in the peak of summer, a time when everything in nature is in full bloom, including the antlers of male deer. The Buck Moon is supposed to represent growth and change.
During this full moon, there was a penumbral lunar eclipse. This puts a partial shadow on the full moon as the it passes behind earths penumbra.
This moonrise was shot in the backcountry of the Wind River Range, rising over some of it's most iconic peaks.
