The fascinating part about the Bristlecone Pine Tree is not how long it’s been alive and taking nutrients from the earth, but the fact that it’s also able to sustain itself and survive despite the harsh environments that it’s lived in. 5000+ years of life, it has seen the evolution of humans and the soil it inhabits. I can relate a lot to the Bristlecone. I’m also a product of my environment and survived many hardships thrown my way. With growth, I’ve also observed the rise and fall regarding who and what is around me. But just like a Bristlecone, there’s no vegetation around that would allow me to get burned if there are surrounding fires.
