Imperfections Are Perfection

I chose this photo as my genesis piece not because it best represents my style but because it is a rare form of what I do. It holds what I believe is an extremely important message.

I planted and grew this poppy in my front garden, it was one of many. These flowers were a gift to the bees as well as passers-by who stopped and took time out of their day to share the bliss that flowers offer us.

I had been shooting these wonderful flowers all season, when I discovered this unique poppy. Immediately I knew what a gift I had received and needed to capture its rare beauty. My instincts are always to shoot as close as I can, identifying abstract shapes and form amongst the colours, this poppy demanded I pull back and capture the bigger picture!

To me, this flower represents a beautiful metaphor we all should live by. Our imperfections are what make us unique, we all need to embrace our differences and celebrate them because imperfections are perfection.
