Echo of the Past

Nobody knows what this object is - an enormous large crater in the desert, with grim clouds always crowding over it and.. Silence. Not just regular quietnes - but truly absolutely silence with nobody to interrupt it.

And in this silence sometimes you can hear voices, begging for help, and children crying for their parents, who escaped before catastrophe started. And the sound of the approaching end, completely inevitable and uncompromised.

Was it some ultratech weapon, used to conquere to those lands or to punish the enemies? Or just a natural disaster? There is nobody to tell, only this echo in eternal mumbling for salvation.
