Arctic Henge is a near mythical site located along the northern coast of Iceland. While not ancient by any means, this site bids homage to mythology and folklore, with the presence of the northern lights placing the spiritual nature of this scene on another level. I drove nearly five hours through a blizzard to find this icy platform alone under the cover of night. I had a creative vision for the scene and I wanted to bring the level of mysticism and wonder I felt in this place using only a single LED light beneath the arches. Several photos were taken with me running back and forth between shots to reposition the light and hit the shutter. Each frame's light was then blended together, resulting in one of the most creatively intense composite images I have ever seen, and derived from one of the most unique landscapes I have ever witnessed.
