I’m fascinated by the built environment. By the impact it has on our everyday lives. I like to look at the granular level, look at the detail, especially security cameras. Some might think that’s odd. I don’t. For me their presence operates at both an aesthetic level and also as statement of contemporary society. Security is of paramount importance. And that’s a universal concern. The cameras therefore provide a narrative, both visually & as a social commentary. I seek out, what for me are, the interesting ones. Interesting on all levels. Taken at an Art Gallery in New Mexico this image is one of those. It engages me deeply.
