Monoceros: The Lagoon over the Mountain

The Heart of our Universe is so close and yet always out of reach.

Here the milky way core appears to be just a short walk to the next valley away as it rises over the horizon of our world.

We see the Lagoon and Trifid nebulae rising above the mountains of Kerry, Ireland. The heart of the milky way just a stone throw away at 5,200 light years.
