Monoceros: The Smoking Gun Hydrogen Alpha Enhanced

The Veil nebula is the smoking remains of a supernova that light up the sky 10 – 20,000 years ago. This image shows the extent of the super nova remnant a shockwave of gas and debris still expanding through space a 1.5 million km/h.

This version is the original data from the Smoking Gun enhanced with Hydrogen alpha data shot at higher resolution and applied as the luminosity layer.
