Description
On this night, like many before, our heroine traverses an unknown land. Her heartbeat increases in pace, as with her footsteps. She can feel them approaching.
Yet, the wind has mingled with the noise of a new people. The destination awaits, at her fingertips. Every step draws it closer. Each breath bringing in the scent of a new land. There is no turning back.
Footsteps are now hurried, causing the gold laced fibers in her cloak to ripple and shimmer under moonlight. Just as they once shimmered in her childhood - when she would often dart under the lights of the master hall. Moving as a shadow to her sister's room, bearing stolen pastries to be shared with laughter.
"Dear Sister," she whispers under her breath, "as always, I will return."
