Velvet swimming crab

There are more than 62 species of crab found around the UK, this pattern is inspired by the Velvet swimming crab. Just as the name suggests they have a velvet feel. They also have red eyes and defend themselves aggressively so the other common name is the devil crab.

Painted from life in lots of blue shades of watercolour, digitally edited.
