This is a botanical illustration of a very common plant, globally. Red clover grows as a weed, but is an astonishing plant.
I think it's very beautiful, with it's soft blue-ish leaves and their white markings. The pink of the flowers is lovely, and a joy to paint.
Along with being gorgeous, it's also brilliant for pollinators like bees. And the roots have little nodules in them that fix nitrogen in the soil, basically allowing the plant to be a fertilizer.
I worked in watercolour, traditionally, with several plants on my desk as I painted.
