AIRY: salt garden

the 350-year-old salt pans stretch about three kilometres along gozo's north coast; an island that belongs to malta..in the summer months the locals scrape the salt crystals from the rock face, all by hand..a tradition that is deeply rooted..a picturesque place straight out of a fairy tale..
