Eusociality is virtually unheard of among Schmryptozoa, with the most prominent example being Pomeformics. Though relatively simple compared to eusocial arthropods, they have gone so far as to develop two separate castes: queens and the sterile workers who gather food for them. The young are kept safe within a brood pouch until they are strong enough to fight through the currents while bearing the Promethea pods that make up the bulk of their diet. Though not terribly quick, by virtue of their size the mature queens are virtually immune to predation by all but the largest hunters.
