Part of my single edition "Legacy" series, this piece was my most mature of my early 3D period. It was meant to be a depiction of family generations, but I wanted to get down to an aesthetic that was rough and gritty. I was still studying 3D around this time in art school. This was also my first foray into procedural texturing. The brush strokes are hand-painted by myself and used a filter to detect, in a procedural fashion, the light and dark values as masks. I was also deeply influenced by Franz Marc, and wanted to come up with a weird realist + expressionist combination.
