Merhill - Concept Art

I have always felt that a sense of 'place' in a story is as important as the characters who inhabit it. Often a village, house or even train-car can becomes one of the main personalities in a narrative.

My forthcoming comic series, All The Little Things, takes place in Norfolk, UK in the fictional village of Merhill. This is how I first imagined the village green.

It will be fun to see what kind of character Merhill becomes as All The Little Things plays out.

Reference images were gathered from the internet and some, lovely car journeys. The drawing was done digitally, on an iPad in Procreate using the HB Pencil and Studio Pen brushes.
