This is a signature food at the Maeklong Railway, in Samut Songkhram, Central Thailand. Known as Pla Thu’ (pronounced plaa two, in Thailand language) it occupies a prime place in the culinary culture of the country. Since the fish entire life cycle takes place in Thai waters, this variety of pla thu is considered to be a Thai fish. It is one fish that is eaten by Thais in every part of the country. This picture is my tribute to the hardworking fishermen of Thailand.
