Ovum

My fascination is with origins... Origins of cultures, of words, of species... And I've always wanted to do something representing the origin of individual lives; Where everything begins for each of us. And where, most of the time, it all ends before it even begins for many more, potential, lives.

The grainy texture was deliberate. I wanted it to look like some sort of future 3D MRI scan. And the creation process became part of the art, in that, it was an extremely arduous, difficult, at one point painful (due to a mistake, I had to start it all again) task, which caused me to miss the deadline for a challenge... Representing childbirth and overdue delivery.
