Southwold Lighthouse stands in the middle of the historic resort of Southwold, in the heart of the beautiful Suffolk Heritage Coast. The lighthouse provides a waymark for vessels navigating the east coast and guides vessels making for Southwold Harbour. The lighthouse is still active today and on a clear night you can see its beams of light miles away.
Capturing this photography at night time was hard work, every time I visit Southwold it is always windy. Night time photography requires a steady base and slow exposures to absorb as much light as possible, however, with the wind shaking the camera this was no easy task. I love galaxies and I wanted to create a series of light house imagery blended with the beautiful galaxies around us.
