Part of a set of designs inspired by Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, or just Raphael as pretty much everyone says it. I was developing a style using pixel sorting and my own wreck techniques experimenting with Raphael's two paintings I loved the most. Trying to create something that hints at his work without doing anything other than taking some pixels and colors from it.
Thematically - it's also an expression of what it's like to try to engage with the philosophy and philosophers of the past - the first set is from The School of Athens. We get fragments and bits of it - but most of us in the modern era don't get much more than a flavor of it. It's difficult to really try to wrap your head around the way ancient people thought about the world, but the fragments can be beautiful.
A series of three "sorted wrecks" in simple compositions, companion series to three others that are fragments_of_a_theology.
