In Russia, most of the rights of a child are clearly established; but there is still a lot of work to be done on maintaining rights such as freedom of expression, protection and discrimination in different realities such as the descendants of AIDS patients, from many families who live on the street, and refugees who have many difficulties in obtaining care health, children with disabilities who do not receive equal treatment or the necessary education, battered children who need support, the list goes on.
There are many orphanages due to the large number of abandoned children, and a high discrimination against homosexual adolescents as victims of homophobia.
