Dying Yggdrasil

This piece was taken from a narrative I wrote a few years ago. The story was heavily inspired from Norse mythology and nordic folklore. The image depicts a moment in the later stages of the story where the protagonist uncovers the truth behind the calamity that has fallen among the nine realms. The heart of the great world tree, Yggdrasil, has been frozen by the lord of the ice giants,Ymir, causing the flow of life in the tree's roots and branches to stop feeding life into the nine realms. Slowly turning them into frozen wastelands, bringing Ymir's plan to rule all realms into fruition.
