Gebo is the rune of balance, trade and sex. Exchanging gifts, physical or otherwise, is a meaningful act of self-sacrifice. Gaining is impossible without giving, and so the rune speaks of the perfect balance that must be maintained across all areas of one's life. Altruism, courage and mystical union are some of the things Gebo describes, but the concept of revenge also belongs to it: giving what is due and paying all debts.
