Whale of Fortune
#artchallenge555 #makersplaceco week 4 phrase: Whale of Fortune What is fortune? Is having money, material wealth? Does having fortune make you feel lucky? I think that having fortune and being lucky are different things and are changing over the years. In childhood and youth, having things makes us feel lucky. In adulthood the conception of fortune is extended: it is to have fame, position, things and that leads us to feel fortunate. In becoming life with the blows and goals conquered, for many, owning things is still important but sometimes that leads us to not feel lucky. We live immersed in a consumerist society in which having is the key to success but they never explain to us that we don't necessarily feel lucky. In old age the concept changes. Having fortune demands that we weaken forces, we find it problematic to obtain them and much more to take care of them. We realize that the lighter the bag of possessions we carry for years, the more fortunate we will feel. Fortune? It is having health, enjoying a sunny day, not being cold or too hot, not having pain, a word of affection, sharing a friendly talk. Our fortune whale is resignified by being and, those who do not understand it, live worried and suffocated by having. And the end is always the same we are born and die with nothing. You have to live every day as the last, life is short.
