When an Invitation Wasn't A Question President Obama x Anna Wilding
"When an Invitation Wasn't A Question"
Obama with Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos by Anna Wilding
A unique 1/1
This is one of the well known photographs from my Celebrate Hope exhibit as seen and sold at Leica Gallery and additional galleries. The original signed limited edition print very rare is currently at number 3/5 editions. If this digital animated image sells in this auction over 3.33 ETH the original large print 3/5 will edition will be included so a stunning moment to own both the digital and the rare print.
I called this photograph "When an Invitation Wasn't a Question" as it recalled a time when if one was invited to the White House, you didn't hesitate of even question attending. Unlike during the subsequent administration where footballers and guests , due to race riots and other political factors, actually had to think about where they would accept or decline. I animated the background, as it embraces the movement of sports and also the moving landscape of players and teams invited to the white House each years whereas each President stays fixed in history and time for a longer moment.
I remember this moment well. In this moment President Obama is making a joke with and at Peyton Manning's expense who takes it with the good nature he is known for. Laughing at ourselves is positive
An Iconic and first of it's kind NFT.
Acclaimed and award winning cinematographer and art collector Woody Omens, A.S.C said of Anna's photography work which he first saw at the Leica Gallery “I call it “Obama classicism” after the great masters, Raphael and Leonardo Da Vinci.”
Anna's well published photograph has borne uncanny resemblance to Obama's recent book cover. Anna's photo was shot in 2016, pre-dating Obama's book cover which was shot in 2019
"Your photograph, “When An Invitation Wasn’t A Question”, is a beautiful and remarkable photo..... It is a stunning photograph." Penguin Publishing
and Tom Scocca Slate Magazine
".....mostly because her picture was much better than the cover photo, and it’s a shame anyone would think they look alike. In Wilding’s photo, Obama’s smile seems natural and friendly; his eyes are crinkled in what looks like sincere, thoughtful amusement. The portrait on the front of A Promised Land, by contrast, registers as some carefully calculated midpoint between the impression of warmth and the impression of gravitas."
This photgraph is from Anna's touring live gallery exhibit Celebrate Hope

"Celebrating the stunning photography of the Obama White House by acclaimed filmmaker and photographer Anna Wilding. She absolutely captured the energy of the an era of class, dignity ,hope and glory.A must see exhibit " Geri Jewell -(Deadwood/Facts of Life)
I spent 2015-2017 almost daily at the White House photographing the Obama's in the East and West Wing and beyond and it was an honor.
I toured my exhibit Celebrate Hope the Obama Collection in multiple galleries until the pandemic struck and galleries closed for close to one and half years March 2020- June 2021.
To date my work is collected on both American coasts. NHT's make it possible to be collected further afield. That is exciting to me.
