Bird People by Halil Ural

"Bird People" (2007)

This one is mostly inspired from the "Skeksis" from Jim Henson's "The Dark Crystal"

I have made this piece back in 2007. It's completely painted on 2d with many layer effects. Basically, I was exploring the possibilities of detailing my 2d digital art.

It was quite popular when it was first posted in Deviantart back in 2007: https://www.deviantart.com/mrdream/art/Bird-People-72479631

People still keep mentioning this piece whenever I meet them so it's one of the few cases that my digital art have received a cult following.

This image also has been featured in the art book "Exposé 6" by Ballistic Publishing. And now it's the highest resolution available you can find in the internet. So enjoy the full glory!
