Well, Art is a form of expression, right? Like language, it helps you speak your mind ... in a way other people can look into your thinking. But art is a lot of things. A single emotion, a single vision, can turn into so many outcomes.
So as a creative exercise, I and Ananya Talwar (instagram.com/theombrejournal) got together to see for ourselves, how does a vision evolve when it travels from one territory to another.
In the first leg of this series, I create a 3D visual from a vision I do not disclose upfront. Ananya then reads into the visual and words it into a poem.
"The farther I reach The deeper it clenches me With its claws Deep in my skin I'm at war I don't want to be at war I'm not trying to win Even if I am It does. 't seem to work out very well.
I'm struggling to breathe But I don't see your hands That I so strongly feel, pressing at my throat. I look at myself; And the bruises your hold, Leave on me.
I could fight you Or convince you to leave me Or even surender if you please- But never do I see you I'm struggling so bad And I wish I could just turn over, And hop out into living. And that waking up wouldn't be a war, That I always returned alive from, But never won."
