Everywhere the growth of the metropolis has reduced the landscape of the river into increasingly narrow spaces, crossed by bridges and high-voltage cables, dotted with pylons, gravel deposits, accumulations of aggregates resulting from the demolition and crushing of construction and road works, abandoned buildings and spaces. This photograph belongs to a project I made during the last winter along the banks of the Piave River, in the northeast of Italy, near Venice.
