A society brought to its knees by natural disasters, a pandemic, or its own self-destruction, finds itself faced with a devastated desert landscape. But as with all destruction, the tabula rasa also offers an incredible opportunity: to rebuild from scratch, to recreate life where it has been destroyed. Start over, yes, but from where?
