Countryside with Obelisk

Countryside with Obelisk is a reimagining of Landscape with Obelisk by Govert Flinck, one of the thirteen stolen masterpieces featured in Netflix’s latest docuseries, "This Is A Robbery,” the story of the world’s greatest art heist.

Bidding ends 4/19 at 11:59 pm EST. The artist will receive 100% of all auction proceeds.

My approach with the artwork is to create a pixel art that is inspired by the Dutch golden age of landscape paintings. It shows an idyllic landscape akin to paintings from that age by artists like Govert, Rembrandt, and others. While taking some key elements from the stolen artwork.
