This work is dedicated to legendary keyboardist Richard Wright. He can be heard in the song that the title of this work refers to.
The idea for this piece came to me years ago while listening to my favorite track off one of the greatest albums ever. The cascading melodies of the lead synth made me imagine a version of the album cover where a beam refracts into a waterfall of color that washes over the listener in a sparkling wave of sound. While the original song and cover art may have different meanings, this is what I see when I hear this song. Thank you, Mr. Wright – the inspiration you left behind continues to flow through us all.
The work is presented with its initial splash for impact, but also contains a seamless loop from frames 273 - 633, which can be optionally extracted using editing software, if desired.
Due to copyright reasons, the song in question cannot be included with this piece. Hopefully the viewers will be able to hear it in their minds as clearly as I can.
