C.S. Lewis, author of "The Great Divorce": in this book, he created a depiction of hell, but without the legions of demons and lakes of fire. Lewis portrays it as a city eternally engulfed in eerie atmosphere and perpetual dusk. Each house moves further away from each other as the residents bicker, quarrel, and have conflict with each other. It's an expanding universe of isolation.
