D503 City

This is the city where citizen D503 lives, in the dystopian novel "We" from Yevgeny Zamyatin. A megalopolis where every building is made of transparent glass, where everyone can look at everyone; a perfect totalitarian system which the author descripts back in the 20's, influencing George Orwell himself for "1984".

The painting was made in 2016 with watercolor and ink on Arches paper 300g. Its original size is around 36 x 20cm (14 x 8 in).
