Legacy: The Goat and the Wandering Crane by Raphael Tobar

Part of my single edition "Legacy" series, "The Goat and the Wandering Crane" is my most ambitious scene.

I was inspired by Aesop's animal fables and decided to come up with my own dark twist. The piece was originally intended for Halloween in 2018.

The story is about a curious crane wanting to venture deep into a nearby swamp. It's elders told the crane to not delve into those regions. Of course, the crane decides to go on its own and discovers a source of great evil. A demonic goat sorcerer calls to the crane, and conjures an apparition of it's own death before the crane. The scene depicts the moment when the crane encounters its after-image.
