Addolorata

The artwork shows " Our Lady of Sorrows " with the sword in her heart. With a painful face she mourns for her dead son.

Sometimes she is also called the Madonna of the Seven Swords. Hence the 7 roses that hover over her head.

I took the photography for this work in Caltanissetta ( Sicily ) during the holy week.
