Is There Danger Ahead?

An animal portrait painting of a meerkat - I created this piece with expressive and energetic brush work which leads the viewers eye whilst maintaining a realistic finish to the focal point which is the meerkat himself 'Ol' Reliable' .

Looking ahead to scan for any potential harm that could come to whom he is protecting, this strong, quick thinking and battle hardened creature is known to the members of his clan by the name 'Ol' Reliable'. He has experienced the harsh heat of the savanna and the ever present danger of lurking predators. His hard unyielding stare yet gentle demeanour are indicative of the past... what losses and which successes have truly shaped this creature? He will only share with those that are truly close to his heart.
