I’m a man from the 90’s with all the pleasant and not very memories. When the Soviet Union collapsed, I was 11 years old. And when the Western world poured into the former totalitarian country, and Ukraine was essentially an economic colony; all these bright colors in clothes, pixel games and video tape recorders with a blurred, glitch films influenced me, making me aware of the closeness of the world in which we all live. It’s fun and sad, but it united us and gave us hope that a better life would come next. New music, new trends, new freedom. I lived on my own experience when a culture reaching it’s peak of development begins to reproduce itself, in a new form, giving the old one a new taste, visualization, feeling of nostalgia but pleasant. We lived it. Bright colors of the 90’s. Glitch, Pixel effects with a thin layer of dust on a vinyl record, with the movie soundtrack, "It was part of us". So, this artwork is my rethinking and vision of Vaporwave style.
