From early childhood, as soon as I became interested in sports, the Olympics attracted my attention. The competitive spirit, the massiveness of the event itself, the number of people taking part in it, all this once again told me; there is something that unites us and it’s not politics, disagreements, wars, disputes. There was fair competition, and sometimes support, mutual assistance, even in relation to the opponent. Everyone supports their native athletes, but during the competition there is a feeling that it doesn’t matter where you come from, it’s important how you fight, show your character. And suddenly there were feelings of respect for other participants in these competitions. The fact that this year a fire was ignited in Tokyo without spectators speaks volumes. Perhaps we just forgot how to turn the shoulder to a stranger who now needs it. This artwork as a symbol of the Olympics, unity in diversity.
