I had spent a summer in Michigan camping in the Upper Peninsula with a couple of friends. The area is known for the beautiful Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, so I had decided to beat the sunrise that cold early morning to capture the sights. On the way there I was bombarded by a sea of color. Kayakers were readying their vessels along this field of grass for their yearly competition. I never made it to the dunes that morning.
