A single piece created digitally with Procreate. A classic marble bust hangs suspended on its pedestal beneath a body of emerald green water. The composition is built on the movement of light filtering through the surface: the caustics at the top are rendered with multi-layered brushstrokes, layered with low opacity. The water's gradient of depth, from green to deep turquoise, is created in layers in light mode, so that the marble of the bust remains a warm focal point within the cold water. The texture of the marble is modeled not with texture brushes, but with hand-applied light-shadow passages — so that the sculpture's surface reads both stone and melting wax. The darkness of the pedestal blends with the ambiguity of the bottom, leaving the figure suspended in timelessness. Palette: deep sea green, caustic gold, marble cream.
