Digital whispers: Fury of the Moon

I created this artwork digitally using Procreate with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. I wanted to depict the wildest and most magnificent aspect of the night sea. Huge, surging waves, under the silver moonlight, both furiously crash and transform into a spectacular light show. I filled the sky with stormy clouds in deep navy blue, green, and turquoise tones. I placed the moon at the very top as a powerful light source, layering its bright reflections on the crests of the waves and the wet sand. The large wave in the foreground and the burst of orange-yellow light within it became the most striking feature of the artwork. I left the rocks and distant cliffs as dark silhouettes to create a sense of depth. I achieved a realistic and dramatic texture by working extensively with detailed brushstrokes and the Smudge and Liquify tools to depict the water foam, wave movement, and spray.
