Marilyn Submerged - MASH 208
EDITION 1 OF 1
Dimensions: 2160 x 3216px
Artist's Notes: I imagine what it might be like to live life with a middle finger to the world. Marilyn embodies an ethos that we create the persona we want to be, whether or not it's the real us, it's the us we present to the world. At a time when I constantly analyze how I present myself to the world, I think of how important it is to be brave and take a dive into the deep end.
Artist's Description: The first ever nude swim scene was in Monroe's final movie "Something's Got to Give" and ironically it was her most happiest moment on camera before her passing. Water is the great purifier and she demanded a bare set with only a couple camera people. She stood her ground and gave the movie a real nude scene that was supposed to just be pretend nude. At the core of this, is woman who though constantly submerged by the will of others, finally stood up to everyone and did things her own way.
MASH 208 - "Marilyn Submerged” is part of the Moriartsy BlueMash Project; visions from an alternate reality that reflect a pop modern surrealist world in Blue.
