Lake Bled on a winter morning

It was an ethereal morning at Lake Bled a few years ago. This was the first image that I took when I arrived at the location. More than half an hour before the sunrise, when the lights on the island were still on, creating subtle reflections in still water. I made several images later on, when the Sun was up, but this one remains my favorite.

The backstory about the place: The lake surrounds Bled Island (Blejski otok). The island has several buildings, the main one being the pilgrimage church dedicated to the Assumption of Mary (Cerkev Marijinega vnebovzetja), built in its current form near the end of the 17th century, and decorated with remains of Gothic frescos from around 1470 in the presbyterium and rich Baroque equipment.
