Harsh, direct lighting makes for illuminating soft curves on the model. This was from my very first bodyscape shoot, and it was a first for the model too! We were pretty excited to try out the new photography style. I couldn't have asked for a better model for the first go at it; her confidence and openness made it all possible. And it's very important to have an open dialogue to get shots like these, figuring out everyone's comfort level. Luckily, the model is clear and direct at navigating that conversation too. Always gotta address that.
Much like the other photos from this shoot, getting the lighting and contrast just right is crucial. Wanted to reveal the curve and texture of her skin, but not the black leotard or backdrop. Seeing how the skin fades off into the void means we pulled it off!
