The New Jim Crow

Painted in 2018 , Acrylic on raw canvas. This “NFT” version of Gianni’s original piece offers the same visual impact as the original. Inspired by the artist’s time in jail for a crime he didn’t commit, The New Jim Crow discuss the implications and parasitic effect the American criminal justice system has on the Black Community. The severed arm represents the feeling the artist had when he was incarcerated for mistaken identity and his only way free was through the cash bail system ( another horrible system created by the American government.
