Monthly Edition: Machismo

This image reminds me of the images from the queer erotica magazines from the 1970s that shaped my youth. I can't help but be captivated by these super machismo men. They embody a classic ideal, reminiscent of the Marlboro Man. Our enduring fascination with these tough guys is undeniable.

Yet, I can't help but wonder why we fetishize these hyper-masculine, machismo figures—cops, firefighters, construction workers, and lumberjacks—who never would be labeled anything other than straight. It's as if we're idealizing our bullies, who often we are victimized by.

But aren't the true examples of courage those who defy conventional expectations? Those who freely embrace their identities, unafraid to express themselves with complete gender freedom?
