She woke me up early, more excited than I had ever seen her - eyes gleaming - said she was gonna take me to a magic place she found: A field where the flowers change colors to match what you wear.
Confused and half asleep, I agreed to get dressed in a pair of pants and the only yellow shirt I owned.
In the car on our way there, she could barely contain herself. She had the joyous look of someone about to burst into laughter: a big child-like smile.
We parked by a dirt road and walked eagerly for a brief moment, following the sound of a stream. Lo and behold, there it was. We witnessed the magic with our own eyes: The flowers were all yellow, just like our clothes, just like she said!
"Isn't it amazing?". She started giggling and let go of my hand. I shook my head in magical disbelief: "Unbelievable!"
Of course, the flowers were already yellow long before we got there, but that didn't make the moment feel less special.
We were the flowers that changed. That's why I loved her.
